I’m back! After five days in NYC I’m back home for the holidays! Since I took quite a large break from the blog I thought I would come back with an extra long post consisting of pictures from the city and a little recap.
The decor. You really can’t beat Christmas time in the city… The lights and decor are just too pretty not to pass up which left me with about 100 pictures too many on my phone. The shopping. Boy, did I shop. Well, mainly window shopped, but that still counts, right? On Saturday my friend Amelia and I made our way to the Flatiron district and then down to SOHO and we ended up walking about 8 miles that day. #SORE. I didn’t buy anything for myself that day, but I did pick up a pretty gift for my mom. On Sunday we shopped some more and on Monday I picked up some goodies at Bergdorf’s. The best part about Monday? …Well, when I was in Bergdorf’s I spotted Betty on the Fifth Floor and somehow mustered up the confidence to speak to her. Yes, THE BETTY HALBREICH. If you haven’t seen Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf’s then you might not know who I’m talking about, but trust me when I say it was a big deal. In other celeb news I ate lunch at the same place as Joe Montana, spotted Emmitt Smith at Buddakan and sat next to the guy who plays Rachel Zane’s ex on Suits at a cafe one day.
The food. My favorite part about NYC is the food. Crazy? Absolutely not. There are so many incredible restaurants in the city and I honestly have so much fun picking out reservations each time I go. This time we tried out two newbies, Buddakan and Peter Luger Steakhouse in Brooklyn. Buddakan turned out to be my favorite of the trip because it was absolutely amazing. From the soup dumplings to sizzling short rib and mushroom chow fun, I loved it all. Peter Luger was good too! It’s pretty famous and does have 3 Michelin stars so I would highly recommend it for any meat lovers out there. We also went to our tried and true favorites, Becco and Eataly. Oh, and if you’re looking for hot chocolate, Blake Lively was right… City Bakery does make a mean hot chocolate.
